Flower Care and Design Tips


1. Most arrangements we send out are already in a vase and have been prepared correctly but it is very important that you do your part to keep the flowers lasting to their longest capacity.  Follow these instructions after the third day in your possesion for best results. Use a clean vase or container.
2. Remove all leaves that will be under water in the vase.
3. Re-cut the stem of each rose under water with a sharp knife or scissors. This prevents air pockets from forming inside the stems, which block water uptake into the flowers.If flowers are not roses this step is not necessary just cut the flowes with a knife or scissors.  Re-cut the stems and change the water every third day.
4. Add the floral food provided with the flowers into the vases of the fresh water.

Here is an old florist trick to help you design your flowers  in the vase. Take tape and make a grid two strands across one way and two strands across the other over the mouth of the vase. Then add your greens, then the roses and then your filler flowers. By making the grid across the mouth of the vase with tape you will have more control designing the flowers.
